Walk-Out
I propose that on Thursday, May 20, 1999 at 1:30pm (Eastern time) or 10:30am
(Pacific time), everyone in every school all over the country is to walk out
in honor of the one month anniversary of the Colorado high school shootings.
We should do this in memory of the students that died, their families, and
all of those people involved. This is our way of showing these teens in
Colorado that they are not alone in their time of mourning and that every
teenager in America is there for them, sharing in their grief and hardships.
This walkout will show that our country is not divided in its suffering.
Instead, it has brought us closer together. But in order for this walkout,
(this connection in our grief), to take place, you must pass this on to
everyone you know no matter where they live and what school they go to. This
email must get passed all around the country to every high school student so
that this national walkout in honor of the Colorado shootings can take place.
And if possible, make photo copies of this email and pass it around your
school and local schools in your area or just spread the word around. Please
help to make this national walk out a success, think about who you are doing
it for…the victims, the families, the innocent lives in Colorado that are
left forever haunted with the memory of this tragedy…Let them know they are
not alone…that we all share in their pain, their suffering, and their
hardship…that they have friends all over the country that are here for
them. Please pass this on.
Thank you,
Jessica
